Book Retreat

This is a small game designed for the AIF Minicomp 2022. It's designed as a tiny open-world sandbox game. I find a lot of adult sandbox games to be extremely complex. They are usually based on complex simulations with tons of stats or based on intricately plotted intersecting characters. It's very hard to create such games. I wanted to see if it's possible to make a simpler sandbox game This game is a deconstruction of the game type. It is designed to strip away as much of that complexity as possible to see if it's possible to make a tiny sandbox game that's still satisfying to play. It is designed in a "board game" style where as much of the rules and mechanics of the game are exposed as possible.
